Call for availability — none of these are 24/7 operations with a phone bank behind them, which is rather the point.

Check the licence before the work starts

Florida plumbers are licensed through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Ask for the licence number and look it up on the DBPR’s license search — it takes a minute and it’s the single most useful thing you can do before handing anyone a key. What to ask before you book

• What’s the trip charge if it turns out to be nothing? Reputable shops will tell you upfront.
• Is there a warranty on the labour? Ninety days is common; a year is a good sign.

When it’s genuinely an emergency

Water you can’t shut off, sewage coming back up into the house, or no water at all — call immediately and pay the premium. A slow drain, a dripping tap, or a water heater that’s simply getting on can wait until Monday morning at standard rates. Knowing which is which saves real money.
